Sewing adventures September 2014

As is often the case Megan has prompted into a new area of crafting or activities and I am loving it!!!  I was requested on August 26 2014 to sew Elsa costumes for Savannah and Kenzie.  Megan told me the sizes and I went on a hunt for fabric and tracking all my sewing supplies too.  The timeline for the costumes was short since Megan and family are going on a Disney cruise starting October 4th.  Lucky family -- for sure.  Well today, September 8 2014 I sent off the costumes.  I am toying with the idea of making Anna costumes too but will need to find out if the current costumes I sent are too big or just what Megan had in mind.  I made Savannah a size 10-12 and Kenzie a size 5-6 -- of course both costumes are too allow for growing room as well.  Oh my goodness the Frozen movie and all things Frozen has taken the country by storm.  Believe me, many moms, Aunts and Grandmas were making lots of Frozen costumes.  It was a fun adventure for sure.  Next sewing project, prompted by Kristen, is a Mrs. Frizzle costume.  Timeline is also short.  I will begin sewing on this costume on Wednesday and hope to have it in the mail no later than Monday, September 15 2014.   Thank you Megan and Kristen for getting my sewing juices flowing again.  Love you both so very much.
Shown above are the girls in their costumes. They are very pretty and have sufficient growing room for the next year but I will need to make a smaller size for the Disney cruise in October.  The dresses are just too long and most likely would create problems running around on the ship.
